INFORMATION
While the internship is from May to August, this form is available year-round. If you didn’t get an offer for an internship for one period, we encourage you to reapply for the next hiring period. The number of internships available varies per period. The application deadline is March 31st.
WRITER THERAPY INTERNSHIP
Writer Therapy is a growing company with a unique approach to story analysis. We work with traditional authors, indie authors, and publishing houses to help create books of the highest quality, as well as storytellers in other fields (film, theater, etc.).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research projects and generating reports
- Content creation
- Reader Reports for inner-office use and general reading assignments
- Proofreading (editing for grammar, punctuation, spelling, usage, and style)
- Compile or update company lists, spreadsheets and word documents
QUALIFICATIONS
- High proficiency in research skills/experience
- Attention to detail and organization skills
- Proficient oral and written communication
- Multitasking with the ability to prioritize
- Knowledgeable in the world of publishing, books, and editing (and a love for story)
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently with a collaborative approach
- Well-read with the ability to offer thoughtful critical analysis of material
- Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style, Premiere Pro, InDesign, Photoshop, and SEO is a bonus
Internships are paid. The business is located in Springville at 1238 North 750 West, less than 15 minutes from BYU and UVU and an hour from the U of U. Currently there is no option to work remotely. The schedule can be flexible anytime between the hours of 9 AM – 5 PM Monday through Friday, with anywhere from 10-20 hours weekly. Work hours and schedule will be agreed upon at the start of the internship.
